Taco Tuesday + Happy Hour = Happy Wallet

San Diego is littered with Taco Tuesday. Most recently dive bar turn social watering hole Bar Dynomite has a Taco Tuesday.

On a fixed income it's a perfect way to treat my family to dinner...El Torito's on Tuesday between 4-8pm is Happy Hour from 4-10pm is .99 cent Taco Tuesday.

The tacos are yummy and tasty and despite the size are quite filling (after 4-5, of course). Hand pressed tortillas, Chicken, Carne Asada and Steak with a taco/salsa bar you really can't go wrong.

Happy Hour means adult beverages, well for $3.50 a huge goblet of DosXX is a deal and perfect way to wash tacos down. Also Margaritas are on sale! The appetizers are a Happy Hour special price too.

8 Tacos, Cantina Combo, 2 sodas, a beer and Deep Fried Ice Cream for dessert...$20 bucks. Good Deal!!!

Downside: the service. For some reason the Plaza Bonita location has to be the EL Torito server training center. Rookies making rookie mistakes - forgetting to place orders, "oh, its going to be right out," 32 mins later, neglect my empty ice tea and running around with unorganized haste!

Remedy: order lots of tacos and beverages early and if you can place your appetizer and dessert order all at once. Then sit back and enjoy because the taco order comes up fast but the rest you'll have to wait.
