North Park - New Town on the Block

North Park has done a complete 180 degree city revamp. Once you exit University and head west towards the landmark "North Park" sign you have entered a cleaner and up beat block.

Night life has been revived.

Ignore the most recent article published in the San Diego Reader about dive bars cleaning up. I was outside of The Office formerly Scolari's when a disgruntal bar patron yelled from a passing car, "that place sucks," with me was The Office owner Ted, "we're still the same place and the prices are the same." He wanted a new vibe a new crowd and less sticky floor and bar, hence the birth of The Office.

Around the corner used to be Buster Daily which is now U-31 a great spot to catch local bands and musical acts. Down the street from The Office is the newest addition to North Park called True North, located right next to the classic Pink Lounge. The vibe...if downtown's Aubergine and PB's Tavern had a love child it would be True North - a sophisticated pub.

I highly recommend checking out North Park and making it your next town to bar hop.
